Thrive’s Green Workforce Training Program
8-week program
Intentions: The Thrive Works Green program is specifically interested in working with individuals who have faced barriers to employment, such as previous incarceration or other systemic hardships. We know that opportunities can be inequitable. As New Orleans’s green industry grows, we want to put green opportunities and dollars into the hands of BIPOC, locals, and those dedicated to the resilience of the city.
Curriculum Objectives: Gain unique and valuable knowledge of Green Infrastructure (how to install rain gardens, permeable pavers, bioswales, and more). Sharpen your skills on a intallation with your cohort during a boots-on-the-ground apprenticeship. Make connections in the field and begin a new job.
Benefits: Earn a stipend of $12/hour for 40 hours/week over the course of 8-weeks. Job placement assistance to get you set up in your new career right away.

Our CDL Program
40-Hour Course
Objectives: Give you the knowledge and confidence to earn your CDL License and open endless doors for higher paid positions.
Benefits: The total cost of the course is waived and paid for by Thrive 9th Ward. Our course instructor is Sherleen Cooper, owner and operator of Coopers Defensive Driving School LLC. She is state certified to train new students to receive Class B licenses.
Certifications:
☑ Class B license with the airbrake, passenger, and school bus endorsements.

Are you over 50 and looking to gain digital skills? Have you considered going back to work, exploring entrepreneurship, or switching careers? The Digital Skills Ready@50+TM program has the information you need to succeed.
AARP Foundation, in collaboration with OATS (Older Adults Technology Services), is proud to offer Digital Skills Ready@50+ trainings in your community. As the demand for digital skills in the labor market continues to grow, you can gain the knowledge required to be competitive in the job market and potentially earn higher compensation. You will have the opportunity to learn about:
