Green Infrastructure Training
Participants in the Stormwater Management Green Infrastructure (SMGI) training program gain the essential skills and knowledge to effectively manage stormwater through innovative green infrastructure solutions. This training equips them with practical techniques and strategies to enhance urban resilience, promote sustainability, and improve water quality in their communities. Thrive’s apprenticeship program offers a comprehensive eight-week training to its participants. The program is divided into two phases: a three-week classroom-based soft skills and green infrastructure training and a five-week on-site apprenticeship.
Weatherization Training
Weatherization refers to making a building more resistant to the elements and more energy-efficient. It involves improving insulation, sealing air leaks, and potentially upgrading heating and cooling systems. This process helps reduce energy consumption, lower utility bills, and enhance the comfort and safety of a home.
Thrive’s weatherization cohort offers a one-month training program that equips apprentices with valuable skills, culminating in the achievement of both BA-P and BA-T certifications. Further, this intensive program not only enhances their expertise but also prepares them for successful careers in their respective fields.
Solar Training
Students will have the opportunity to apply classroom principles in lab and live field environments and will have the opportunity to earn the following industry credentials: Building Science Principles Certificate of Knowledge, Building Analyst-Technician Certification, and the Building Analyst-Professional Certification from the Building Performance Institute. Students will also have the opportunity to earn the Certificates of Completion for Building Science Principles, PV Associate, Building Analyst-Technician, and Building Analyst-Professional. For the overall program, students will earn the Everblue Energy Specialist Apprenticeship Certificate.

Workforce development programs typically encompass initiatives that enhance worker skills and knowledge, including training, education, career development, and job placement, all aimed at improving employability and the overall quality of the workforce. Further, at Thrive we hone in on our soft skill training and our holistic approach initially to support our workforce partners who may not get the chance to develop from the inside-out, before being hired in their careers.
Our workforce development program serves men and women from all different walks of life. This is why we support their everyday needs first and foremost economically, psychologically, physically, and spiritually. We genuinely want to see them thrive while with us and after us.
Consequently, we are not just creating economic opportunities, but we most evidently stand as a vital support system to ensure our workforce heroes thrive throughout the journey into thriving leaders.
