Thrive New Orleans Executive Director Chuck Morse has recently advocated to a national and local audience about the importance of prioritizing workforce programs to help build an equitable New Orleans.
Last month, Morse teamed with the National Skills Coalition to meet virtually with congressional offices in Washington, D.C. urging Congress to prioritize investments in workforce and education.
Last week, Morse participated in a special in a special Racial Wealth Divide Strategy Series for Inclusive Workforce Development webinar with the National League of Cities. The webinar focused on representatives from throughout the country who are executing creative workforce development tactics in their communities and Morse was proud to represent New Orleans.
Also last week, Morse took part in the Building Equity Summit presented by the Committee for a Better New Orleans to speak about how can leaders create an equitable process for infrastructure money in the City of New Orleans that infuses community engagement, accountability, and collaboration.
“It is always a pleasure to speak to local and national leaders about the importance of prioritizing investments in workforce,” said Executive Director Morse. “However, it is also a necessity. Thrive New Orleans will continue to be a leader in ensuring that workers and students have access to good jobs and employers have a pipeline of workers with the skills necessary to fill current and future job openings. Our work is resonating on a local and national level and we plan to take our advocacy even further in 2024 for the betterment of New Orleans.”
