United We All Thrive
More About Us
Creating Thriving, Local Economies for all
For a flourishing city and a sustainable world
We use our workforce development, environmental businesses, and our social enterprise as an economic engine for communities to thrive.
By establishing thriving local economies, we are able to create and protect a sustainable City of New Orleans.
Help us push our mission forward to see a flourishing future of New Orleans and the world for the generations to come.
UNITED BY WATER
Our Thrive Story
Here we stand not just despite an environmental disaster that made national headlines but moreover, because of it. Thrive New Orleans has been forged upon a firm foundation made of resilience and it will continue to lead the way.
Our non-profit organization has been “United by Water.” Much like the water we drink to survive, it turns out that we all need one another to thrive.
In 2005, the entire City of New Orleans was hit with the destruction left behind by Hurricane Katrina, herself. As she took no prisoners, she did in fact leave behind a traumatizing memory for many to come – including the men and women we serve today.
In hindsight, Hurricane Katrina didn’t just bring us together, the storm highlighted elaborate community needs and even more powerfully, she ever so politely helped uncover some of the darkest truths hidden in the depths of community soil.
Following the devastation, Thrive New Orleans was launched to help address the overwhelming needs for the City of New Orleans.
Since then, we have been on the frontlines meeting the economic, environmental, and social needs of the New Orleans metropolitan region.
Today, Thrive New Orleans operates a social enterprise on a promising mission. As a movement, we provide workforce training, create job opportunities, encourage community sustainability, and push the envelope for our people to experience true social change for generations to come. Ultimately, everyone deserves the opportunity and access to the resources needed to prosper. Further, no one should ever be left behind because in unity – we all thrive.
Consequently, we value unity, leadership, innovation, education, and sustainability because without these characteristics, we, ourselves, would not be here today.
Our vision is to see the City of New Orleans flourish and the world thrive like it never has before; a world built upon true environmental resilience and sustainability through the care and nurturing of its local economies, first and foremost. For the truth is this: another storm may head our way in the days to come, but this time, we will be well equipped and ready to thrive even in the midst of it.
